Having joined Urbahn in the 1980s, Rafael has been a principal since 1996. In addition to his direct project involvement, he has spearheaded Urbahn’s business development over the past 20 years. This role has fostered in Rafael a keen understanding of project needs, allowing Urbahn to respond with consultant teams and project approaches that surpass client expectations and aspirations.
Rafael has been involved in all aspects of the architectural practice, from planning and design through production and construction. His project experience reflects his focus in the higher education, K-12 and institutional sectors. Rafael’s particular strength is a versatility in taking on projects whose goals require the formation of original methodologies. Rafael led Urbahn in its initial design-build projects and has directed the work effort for a variety of multi-property capital planning programs.
Rafael received his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1988 from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Art & Science. He is a registered architect in the states of New York and New Jersey.
