Donn joined Urbahn in the early 1980s and was named Managing Principal in 2012. In this capacity, Donn coordinates corporate initiatives and supervises office operations. A keen advocate of environmental stewardship and the employment of design and construction technologies, Donn is the driving force behind Urbahn’s continual enhancement of staff capability in sustainability, Building Information Modeling and advanced digital visualization. His leadership style is characterized by an unyielding commitment to both the project and client, evidenced by his attention to design excellence, schedule and budget compliance, and document quality.

Donn directs Urbahn’s work in the justice, public safety and K-12 sectors, as well as major civic infrastructure projects. He is a recognized for his planning and design of secure facilities, including corrections, juvenile justice, and police facilities. He believes in the primacy of passive security planning, but is also an expert in electronic security technology.

In 1980 Donn earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he continues to serve as a guest critic and development partner. He is a registered architect in New Jersey, New York, and Maryland. Donn became a LEED Accredited Professional in 2006.
