Broad Hollow Bioscience Park Farmingdale State College

Farmingdale, New York

Since its inception, Urbahn has been continuously involved with the Broad Hollow Bioscience Park, an 18-acre research incubator complex located on the site of Farmingdale State College. This multi-phase project grew out of a program envisioned by NYSTAR, the New York State Foundation for Science, Technology, and Innovation to encourage biotechnology entrepreneurism in New York State. On a Design-Build basis, Urbahn developed the Building 1 design, with its 62 individual laboratories, as well as all site infrastructure. Following completion of Building 1, Urbahn was retained by individual tenants to provide fit-out design for pharmaceutical R & D.

Urbahn returned to Broad Hollow to provide programming, planning, and design services to design the Building 2. As with Phase 1, Urbahn designed the 34 modular laboratories for flexibility to be fitted out by individual tenants.
