125 Worth Street DOHMH Consolidation

Manhattan, New York

As part of New York City’s initiative to reduce its portfolio of leased properties, Urbahn planned and designed a consolidation and restacking of DOHMH facilities at 125 Worth Street in Lower Manhattan. The renovated space houses the divisions of Environmental Health; Emergency Operations; Tuberculosis Control; Food Safety & Community Sanitation; Health Promotion and Disease Prevention; and Public Records.

Urbahn planned and designed the fit-out of over 75,000 sf serving multiple departments across five floors.  Employing NYC space standards, Urbahn’s planning maximized the use of an open office environment.  Patterned glazing maintains privacy in conference rooms while maximizing natural light in the interior.  Public spaces were designed to feature the historic palate of marble and bronze and restore grilles and light fixtures.
