Urbahn was responsible
for all architectural planning and design for the rehabilitation of
this important station completed in 1911.
Because of the historic significance and architectural quality
of the station house exterior, the station has been nominated by the
State Historic Preservation Office for Landmark Status.
All building elements, whether new, renovated or restored, are designed
to retain the historic character of the site. The station is an integral part
of the surrounding neighborhood and consequently, all modifications are designed
to respect the nearby buildings.
Modifications to the station include full ADA compliance at the station house and platforms, lighting and drainage upgrade thoughout the site and major structural repair.
