renowned restoration architect Giorgio Cavaglieri,
provided design services to modernize this magnificent structure to
meet current judicial needs and standards. Our work included restoration
of the three historic courtrooms and upgrading for video and security,
new elevator lobby lighting, creation of new courtrooms and judges'
chambers, and mechanical ventilation of public rest rooms.
The general design of major public spaces is very typical Italianate
or American Renaissance design. Great rooms with round arches,
elegant wood paneling and marble wainscotting, recounts
the great renaissance
Florentine and Roman palaces of the 16th Century.
