Bartlett Hall houses
the U.S. Army’s Center
for Electromagnetic Science & Technology, conducting significant
research, providing critical training and contributing to the national
research and development policy planning.
Urbahn designed the conversion
of space within Bartlett Hall for a state-of-the-art direct energy
cell laser laboratory facility designed to maximize flexibility
to accommodate changes in research programs economically and with minimum
disruption to the facility.
The project required reconfiguration
of spaces, HVAC modernization, clean rooms and a controlled
environment for sensitive electromagnetic research equipment and the
design of
offices, laboratories, darkroom, mechanical
equipment and gas storage areas.
