Urbahn designed both phases
of this major 1,100-plus bed major housing expansion project.
In Phase 1, Urbahn, as part of a design/build team, provided architectural and
lead design services for four 3-story buildings accommodating 503 students.
Through efficient planning and use of construction technologies, we were
able to provide significant upgrades beyond what was in the original
program.
Based upon the success of Phase 1, Urbahn was retained to design Phase 2, a four-building,
668-bed complex with a Commons Building. Phase 2 was built upon a heavily wooded
area and great effort was made to preserve as many of the trees as possible.
Urbahn designed this phase to meet NY State’s EO 111 Guidelines for sustainable
design.
