To consolidate medical treatment facilities for the Puerto Rico Department of Corrections, Urbahn, as part of a joint venture with DS+C Architects & Engineers of San Juan, is providing architectural design and space planning services to design a new 131,000 SF correctional medical center to be the central facility for the Puerto Rico Department of Corrections system. The facility includes: inmate intake, holding, and security area, specialty medical clinics, diagnostic and treatment areas, administrative services area, warming kitchen, support services area, in-patient pharmacy, 200-bed inmate in-patient care housing units and a 100-bed psychiatric unit.
