Rafael, an officer at Urbahn since 1996, was named Managing Principal in 2009. For the past 15 years, he spearheaded Urbahn’s business development efforts. This role has fostered in Rafael a keen understanding of client needs, allowing Urbahn to respond with a consultant team and technical approach that can meet, and surpass, their aspirations for a project.

In addition to his corporate duties, Rafael is involved in all aspects of architectural practice, from planning and design through production and construction. His project experience has focused on the k-12, higher education, and transportation sectors. Rafael’s particular strength is his talent for taking on projects whose goals require the development of original methodologies. Rafael led Urbahn in its initial fast-track Design/Build projects, and has directed the work effort for a variety of major institutional Capital Planning programs.

Rafael received his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1988 from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Art & Science. He is a registered architect in New York and New Jersey.
